Update on phone lines - 26/08/2021
We are still experiencing issues with our telephone lines and this morning we appear to only have one line working for incoming calls. We are aware that since changing our phone system we have had no end of issues and we want to reassure you that we have taken everyones feedback seriously and have escalated issues to high level. We appreciate that the phone issues are causing a lot of inconvenience for our patients and are doing everything that we can to get this resolved urgently. We have engineers looking at the lines at the moment and we hope to have a further update later today. Staff are working hard despite the phone lines not working properly.
Update on phone lines - 08/09/2021
As you know we have been struggling with our new phone system. We have finally got an engineer on site this afternoon after doing various remote testing. The engineer will be testing new handssets/platform to get the issues finally resolved. We are not anticipating any downtime but please be aware when contacting the practice via the phone that the system is undergoing testing. We thank you for your ongoing patience.
You must continue to wear a face mask in our practice after 19 July
When attending our GP surgery, you must continue to wear a face mask and follow social distancing rules, unless you are exempt. Practice staff will continue to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
This will help to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors and staff, especially those who are more vulnerable to infection.

We are working extremely hard to provide safe care to our patients. We hope that this helps clarify why these measures are in place.

Slaithwaite Health Centre opened in 1981 and offers a comprehensive range of health care services to local residents with good access and facilities for the disabled.
We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.
We are still open and here for you. We are continuing to provide services as we have been doing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are prioritising delivering of care and services based on clinical needs.

Due to coronavirus, how you contact us will be different at the moment. This is to limit face-to-face contact whenever possible and help stop the spread coronavirus.
Online consultation requests for non-urgent help can be made at any time. They will be responded to as soon as possible, usually within two working days.

Appointments are being delivered face-to-face, by telephone, or using video calls and messaging to you mobile or computer-the practice team will assess what is most appropriate for you. If you have a preference about how to access care you can discuss it with your practice.

The Valleys Primary Care Network
Since the NHS was created in 1948, the population has grown and people are living longer. Many people are living with long-term conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, or suffer with mental health issues and may need to acces their local health services more often. To meet these needs, practices have begun working together with community, mental health, social care, pharmacy, hospital and voluntary services in their local areas in primary Care Networks (PCNs).
PCNs build on the core of current primary care services and enable greater provision of proactive, personalised, coordinated and more integrated health and social care.
PCNs are based on GP registered lists in geographical areas, typically serving natural communities of around 30,000 to 50,000.
Slaithwaite Health Centre is part of The Valleys Primary Care Network with Oakland's Health Centre, Colne Valley Group Practice, Honley Surgery, Elmwood Health Centre, Meltham Group Practice. Our Clinical Director is Dr Dil Ashraf.
